Welcome
Hi! I'm Jenifer.
I'm a mama of many. I love great books, natural wellness, encouraging mamas, and gentle births!

I'm 45 years old and man, am I ever blessed! I'm mama to seven beautiful children. We are a homeschooling family and always have been. We live in a bustling little town, but dream of owning land in the countryside with chickens and horses, maybe a few cows and goats, and a garden full of herbs, fruits, and vegetables. We have the sweetest friends a family could ask for and our kids are involved in activities they love. Our days are full and it's usually loud around our house, but we absolutely love having a large family. Around 2009 we began a journey of taking charge of our health and that led to discovering natural approaches. It's been wonderful to see how much our health has improved over these years! We could have never written a more beautiful story than ours. We truly love the plans the Lord has made!
It's so fascinating all the unique paths that bring people toward what I like to call holistic discovery. And it's a journey. It isn't like you just open a door and there you are. It's walking along a path, discovering more as you go, all the beauties of natural approaches to your life, your health, your body. Everything, really. All the marvelous ways we are created and what we're capable of with just the naturally occurring design we've had with us since the beginning of time.
By the time I'd experienced four births in different hospitals in two states over the course ten years and also heard dozens of stories from other mamas, I'd grown discouraged about the expectations for birth. Something seemed surely missing. The expectations most women have for what pregnancy and birth look like and feel like and what is required have been conditioned over the last 100 or so years in cultures where pregnancy and birth have become more medicalized.
I found that there is something missing. Something that was there all the time for these mamas and babies, it was just misunderstood, considered insufficient, sometimes it even seemed frowned upon.
Birthing is actually deeply instinctive. And for the majority of women, it doesn't need much more than a willingness to let it be. To let it play out as it will in its own time and in its own unique way. I believe if more mamas can be shown how instinctual and capable they truly are, and they're allowed the freedom to lead their own births, driven by their instincts, there would be far more stories of gentle births with far less complications and long term effects and I imagine there would even be professionals out there who would realize more ease and joy in their own work.
My path led me to have a completely instinctive and natural birth, gently and safely at home. I partnered with experienced professionals who attended births most like I desired to have. No forceful pushing or restricted positions. No schedule. No interventions. Neither of us inhibited by medications. Clarity of mind and body. Fully immersed in the radiance of it all and the glow of the hours and days after. Turns out, it was everything I imagined it could be.
